Worst Blogger in the World

Okay I know I suck at blogging but I never have anything fascinating to say, so who wants to read a site that has nothing special in it? No one cos that'd be boring. But I figured I'd need some obligational posts for the QB soI can show that I'm activce on my site and I still totally wanna be a member of their club. I LOVE YOU GUYS!

Anyway, nothing new to report, I updated my 1001 goals, washed my quilt and updated my trade log. I was bummed that I lazied out on the making an island project. I was going to make mine where a little fish jumped out of the water. I just haven't been feeling terribly creative these days. I might try with the sand castles though cos that looks like fun! Anyway, that's what I've got going on. Not a lot like I said, but hey, at least I posted something up here!

Best Book Ever

Melissa, you ask the most unfair questions ever! How can I just pick one book as my most favorite ever? That's like trying to ask which of my children is my favorite. I could tell you but I would deny, deny, deny that it ever happened. I guess if i were forced to make a decision like if all the books in the world were being burned and i could only save one of them... then I know which one I would chose. It would have to be Charles Dickens' Great Expectations.

Strangely enbough my love for the book doesn't come from Pip. Although I like the character, the two who really get me down to my core are Stella and Miss Havisham. I always likened myself to Stella. I had a crazed manhating mother who used to fill me with her manhate speech enough to make me buy her bullshit as a kid. It used to make trying to have relationships hard because by my mother's words I couldn't ever trust a man. Sadly I went even one further and realized you can't trust people, not even those you'r related to. The rest of the tale as well is sort of an allegory to my life in ways i'd rather not talk about. I just totally understand Pip and Stella's pain and get sick over them being so manipulated by their circumstances and people around them.

I can't say any of Dicken's other stories are any good, but this one really hits home for me.

I will never forget...

That you loved me enough to chase my train down all the way to the end of the tracks and jump up and down to wave goodbye to me. I loved you too! Thank you Jeremy.

Best Gift Ever

You know, the best presents I've ever gotten were ones I bought for myself. No one ever really gets me the good stuff, so I treat myself to it. BUT having thought about it for a moment I actually know of something really awesome.

So last year when I was living in El Paso I lost my MP3 player. It was my absolutel favorite one I've ever had. It was a Pink Creative Zen Stone that had no display but it had a little speaker on the back. It was the day I went in for my driver's test which I failed. Anyway, right before the test my player fell INTO the dash board of the car and it fell in deep enough for me not to be able to reach it. It was so sad as I had to slowly listen to it die in my car until the battery wore out! Anyway I bought myself a Sony Walkman MP3 player to replace my cute little Zen. Sadly the Sony didn't even last a month and I dropped it and cracked the screen. There was no warranty on it :(

So I was liek really sad because music is important to me. It's how I get everything done, listening to music. My sister in law was aware of this fact and she felt bad for me, so she did something awesome for me and gave me her old Zen MP3 player. :)

Anyaway, that's it. It's my favorite and best gift I've ever gotten in the whole world! TY Marie!

QB Challenge: Adventurous

Posted on May 2, 2011 at 9:52 AM Comments comments (0)

In my life, all I have now are my stories. I lived far too much way too fast and am glad my life settled down to a nice slow pace. I could tell you all sorts of things, but nothing I want to have leaving a permanent mark in the web world, so I'll tell you something I can talk about on here. The most adventerous thing I've ever done that has shaped my life as it is now today was moving from California when I was 19. While most kids typically set out for college, I was trying to feell my way through the world. Los Angeles got old and tiring, and I found out the people I thought I could trust were actually some of the worst friends I'd ever had.

So I got mad. I packed up my bags and moved off to Arizona with my best friend/boyfriend at the time. I lived in his dorm room for a good 5 months or so without ever being detected. When summer came we moved back to his home in Columbus, OH. Ohio is one of the most beautiful places in the summer and the little town we lived in , Bexley, was something cut out right of out school Americana. But as the seaons went on and Winter came I decided I couldn't hack the cold, nor could I handle having a boyfriend anymore because he wasn't pulling his weight as a grown up. I felt more like a maid than a girlfriend. So I bailed and went down to Texas where my mom had moved to which is where I am today.

The whole point of expaining all that is because it's part of who I am today. In California, I was another person, but after having moved out on my own, traveled around to diffrent parts of the country, I can honestly say it's made me a diffrent person. I learned the impermanency of life, and don't fear it. I used to hate major changes when I was younger. When I think about my life I think about it in two phases: PreTexas and PostCalifornia. It was a pretty big dealfor me to set out like that when I was younger because all my family lives in California. When I maved away I was really kind of on my own, and I absolutely loved it!

Photo a Day Days 3 and 4

So yesterday I was busy and didn't get to post, but I did do my picture a day and got a really cute photo of my Kitty. When I was out feeding the animals last night Kitty saw our dog Elvis swimming in his pool. She started splashing with him and barked like he did and found this to be great fun. Next thing I know, she took off her socks and shoes and jusr jumped in the pool with Elvis. They had a lot of fun splashing and playing together. So this is their picture:

pPretty cute isn't it? She sucha a happy go lucky kid 90% of the time which is win in my book.

So the second picture, the one from today is of a flower thats growing in my mom's flowerbed. I think its an iris but don't quote me on that. I'm never good with names of flowers.

IIt's alittle blurry but thats because its windy and the flowerwas blowing about quite a bit.

Nothing interesting to report for the week. Mainly got all my studying done for my Psychology test on Monday and I'm still waiting to hear back from the quiting bee to see if I got in. I hope I did. Either way I'll keep posting here for my 101 in 1001.

So here's my wayne tryingf to give kitty some bunny ears. I know, totally crappy picture, but it's taken from a very cheap little phone cam. Still, I'm meeting my goals, which is all I really care about!

I should totally be studying for my psychology test tomorrow. I'm hoping to ace it, but we'll see! I'll keep you posted!

101 in 1001- Photo a Day #1

So because I'm insane I decided to take the DayZero challenge and complete 101 specific tasks in 1,001 days. The biggest task is going to be "take a photo a day". This morning I was checking uot my digital camera and the photo quailty is terrible, so I had to take picture number one on my horrible little phone camera. I should add to the list "get new digital camera" ...mybe I will once I complete other goals.

At any rate, here is photo number one:

This is my toddler Kitty. She was explaining something to me and gesturing with her hands as she always does. It's very funny. I know it's lame but the goal was to take a picture a day... not to take a good picture. Maybe over time I'll become more inspired, but today I photograpghed my favorite person under 3 feet tall.

Quilt Patch

So I've been racking my brains as to what sort of patch I wanted to create that might give some insight to myself, since everyone's patches are very personal. I couldn't come up with anything good until I came back to my very favorite thing... Hogwart's.  By combining the Top half of the coat of arms of Hufflepuff with the bottom half of Slytherin's shield I got my very own Slytherpuff shield. I used the coat of arms shown for both houses on the HP Lexicon website. If you want to check them out I have a link to the lexicon on my links page. Anyway, I'm hoping now that I've created my patch I'll get approved to the group! :D

New!

So I created this blog because I want to do the quilting bee and they stated I'd need a site to host my quilt on so here it is! I only hope I didn't waste time making this only to not get approved. I want to pixels with a group! <3
